Frequently Asked Questions

In what geographical areas of do you offer your services? I provide wedding services primarily in the greater Indianapolis area and surrounding suburbs and Northwest Indiana; and also the greater Chicagoland area (upon special request). However, I can also perform weddings anywhere in the U.S. and destination weddings.

What officiant services do you provide?

I offer personalized non-denominational, interfaith, multi-cultural, spiritual and religious ceremonies. I also perform wedding vow renewals. After the ceremony, I mail your signed MARRIAGE LICENSE to the Clerk's office the VERY NEXT DAY to be filed so that your MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE can be made available to you, upon your request, either online or by mail. It generally takes about 2 weeks for the clerk's office to mail your Certificate.

Do you require a signed contract?

Yes. I have a contract that provides clarity around all the terms of our agreement; and assures that I am committed to you on the date and at the time of your wedding.

How do you expect payment?

I ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit when you reserve your date on my calendar. The balance is due on or before your wedding day. Convenient payment options include cash, check, Chase Quick Pay, or credit card (for an additional processing fee).

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?

Yes! In fact, that has been the choice for most of the weddings and other events at which I have officiated. I welcome your creative ideas regarding a venue that perhaps has special meaning for you. It could be in front of the famous LOVE sculpture at the Indianapolis Museum of Art; at the NCAA headquarters for couples who may be avid sports fans; or at the dinner table with a few of your close friends at the restaurant where you had your first date. Get married over dinner? Absolutely! Be creative! I'm open to new ideas!

Will we be able to select the wording of our vows and other readings that are used in our ceremony?

Of course! You will have options from which to select your vows, exchange of rings, and other elements that may be included in your ceremony. In fact, I encourage couples to consider composing their own vows. That is one of the most important ways you can make your ceremony personal and unique. I will offer suggested readings, but you can feel free to use any that have special meaning for you.

Are you willing to attend pre-ceremony rehearsals?

Yes, for an additional fee of $100 for 1 hour of rehearsal time.

What is your attire at the ceremony?

I wear clothing that is in good taste and is suitable for both the occasion and the weather. However, for ceremonies in a church, or at the couple’s request, I can wear either a black or white ministerial robe.
